Camila Morrone, who has a 23-year age gap with her boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio, shared in an interview that she understands the curiosity surrounding their relationship as she too would be fascinated by it. Stating that there are many relationships in Hollywood and the world where couples have large age gaps, the 22-year-old model and actress advocated for normalizing age differences. "I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date".
"There's so many relationships in Hollywood - and in the history of the world - where people have large age gaps", the actress said.
The actress did concede that she understands why her relationship has garnered the interest of so many, adding, 'I probably would be curious about it too'.
"I think more and more now that people are seeing the film, I'm slowly getting an identity outside of that", Morrone tells LAT. "People will always have very bad things to say because there's a sense of entitlement and safety behind the screen, but trust me, you don't need to be that angry".
That said, Morrone said she understands the fascination with her relationship.
In October, the pair were photographed holding hands in New York City after grabbing lunch together. They also attended Coachella together earlier this year, and later, at the Cannes Film Festival where DiCaprio debuted his Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. She told the LA Times that she turned down the roles she was offered for a year because they were all stereotypical pretty girl parts. "Camila spends a lot of time at his house". Mickey and the Bear isn't one of those.
