Singer Sia was spotted paying for people's Thanksgiving shopping at a Walmart and TJ Maxx in Palm Springs, California this week. During one 15-second clip, the 43-year-old songstress is shown hugging and talking with several shoppers while "disguised" in plainclothes.
According to local media, Sia did not reveal her true identity, claiming that she was named Cici.
One woman claiming she was among the cornucopia of customers to have their groceries covered by the nine-time Grammy-nominee shared her experience on Twitter, writing: "So @Sia paid for my groceries today thank you so much!" Buckles tweeted. "The heart and handsome soul you have for paying for everyone!"
Speaking about her unique look In 2016, Sia told James Corden: "I don't wear this unless there are cameras around. But this kindness must be acknowledged!" So, when she walked up to people with her hair pulled back, most shoppers just thought she was just a very kind person, not a celebrity.
"Who's next?" Sia asks as she prepares her credit card for another pass at the register.
"When done without recognition it's handsome thing, with national news recognition it's called publicity....who even cares", tweeted one skeptic.
Meanwhile, another fan pointed out that also this week an anonymous donation of $1 million was made to an advocacy group for those with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a genetic disorder shared by Sia as well as Lena Dunham and actress Jameela Jamil - all three of whom have spoken publicly about their illness.
The Post has reached out to a representative for Sia, and will issue an update to the story should they respond.
