"Barr told the paper, "[Gilbert] destroyed the show and my life with that tweet".
A rep for Gilbert did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment, but the actress gave a brief interview to the Post, saying, "while I'm extremely disappointed and heartbroken over the dissolution of the original show, she will always be family, and I will always love Roseanne". "I am disappointed in her actions to say the least", Gilbert tweeted at the time.
'This is incredibly sad and hard for all of us, as we've created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love- one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member'. Sara was one of the first to speak out against Roseanne.
Her recently re-booted show, though bringing in huge ratings for U.S. network ABC, was soon cancelled because of her remarks. The show's stars, Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson, and Ames McNamara, are all set to return, with additional cast members to be announced at a later date.
Last November, Sara told Australia's TV Week magazine that her attempts to reach out to Roseanne had been rejected.
Now, however, a new scapegoat has emerged in the form of Gilbert, who plays Roseanne's daughter Darlene in the sitcom and its spin-off, The Conners.
