"I rate him as a player but we have similar types with Alex Iwobi, Jack Wilshere back".
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made it clear that Sanchez will not be sold, however, and has instead informed him that he will run down his contract before allowing him to leave on a free next summer.
When asked if Arsenal have received bids for Sanchez, Wenger replied: "I can not tell you that. Mesut Ozil ... we have plenty of the same type of players".
"I think he had in his career some bad moments because he had some small injuries", the Frenchman added.
"I can't tell you that at the moment", he said. His initial return to training was delayed by three days, with Arsenal citing an illness, and now he is injured. We are not open to any offers anyway.
The 23-year-old England global has struggled to secure a regular place since arriving at Arsenal six years ago, but Wenger believes the winger has the potential to become a great player.
"It's a long time I didn't speak to Nasser, because it's certainly very busy to complete the transfer of Neymar and it's a long time that I didn't speak to him".
Asked if he expected Al-Khelaifi to get in touch, Wenger replied: "No, no".
"That's what I read in the papers and on my side I had no contact at all with Paris Saint-Germain [about Sanchez]".
Speaking after Arsenal beat Chelsea on penalties at Wembley, Wenger revealed he was looking to trim his squad before the transfer window closes, but he said no departures were now imminent.
But he is no closer to shifting those deemed surplus to requirements as he believes many Premier League clubs are in the same position. "He's come here and not played in many games, but I like the player".
