Sad news if you're looking for a posh SUV with a couple of extra seats - Land Rover's head of design, Gerry McGovern, has said that the British manufacturer won't be producing a seven-seat Range Rover any time soon.

Powering the all-new Land Rover Discovery SUV is a 3-litre diesel motor that makes 258PS and generates 600Nm of torque. The company has also started accepting bookings for the new Discovery in the country. It's the fifth-generation model since its introduction back in 1989. There are subtle character lines and sharper details along the chrome grille, LED headlamps, and the bumpers. The auto goes on sale in November 2017 with prices starting at Rs. 68.05 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The SUV comes in both 5- and 7-seat configurations. Inside the cabin, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery comes loaded with features like Intelligent Seat Fold technology, a central touchscreen, InControl Touch Pro Services. The diesel engine is a 2,993cc, V6 that develops 255 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 600 Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm. While the latter will be powering the TdV6 trim, the former will power the Si6 variant.
The standard features in the SUV include the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, a 14-speaker Meridian digital surround system, four 12V charging points amongst others.
