Biden infrastructure plan proposes spending $174B to boost America's EV market

Presiden Joe Biden is set to announce his $2 trillian infrastructure plan on Wednesday.

U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced a massive $2 trillion infrastructure program that he said will generate millions of jobs, revitalize the United States economy and help Washington compete with China. "The Biden plan will crush American workers and decimate USA manufacturing, while giving special tax privileges to outsourcers, foreign and giant multinational companies".

The world's largest business organization, which has existed since 1912, added that is "strongly" opposes "the general tax increases proposed by the administration which will slow the economic recovery and make the USA less competitive globally - the exact opposite of the goals of the infrastructure plan".

Former president Donald Trump criticized his successor Joe Biden in a written statement on Wednesday, claiming the current US president's infrastructure plan is an "attack on the American Dream".


Biden, who took office in January, vowed to pass a second bill aimed at improving infrastructure in the United States and creating jobs, and USA media reported that would likely be divided up into two proposals costing a total of $3 trillion.

"We urge both Democrats and Republicans to avoid further partisan gridlock and provide productive solutions to get an infrastructure bill passed this year", the Chamber said.

The Chamber said that a major investment in the nation's infrastructure, if "properly done.should be paid for over time - say 30 years - by the users who benefit from the investment", rather than over eight years.

The agency said Biden's plan to pay for the proposed plan was "dangerously misguided".
