The couple are also parents to son Archie Harrison, who will turn 2 years old on May 6.

This news comes in the light of the Duchess' miscarriage last July, "Losing a child means carrying an nearly unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few", she wrote in a searingly honest and heartbreaking New York Times essay on November 25.

A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said: 'We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. They recently bought a house in Santa Barbara, California.

A spokesperson for the couple said they were "overjoyed" at the news.

The news comes just a few months after the duchess revealed in a poignant op-ed for the New York Times last November that she had miscarried that July.

The strategist believes that Meghan and Prince Harry's Archewell Foundation could give her a necessary boost to enter the world of politics.
