Canada's chief public health officer, Dr. Theresa Tam said February 5 that Health Canada now has data that suggests about 10 per cent of the population is not going to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and there is little that could change their minds.

Authorities say this is a critical part of the regulatory oversight of vaccine quality.

MA officials said more than 100,000 vaccine appointments would be available next week across the super vaccination sites, local pharmacies and community health centers. They were tested because they had symptoms or other reasons, he said.

Pollard said the Oxford trial should help policymakers decide whether at some point in the future they want to extend mass vaccination programs to children as they seek to ensure schools are safe and combat the spread of the virus in the wider population.

Health Department Secretary Brendan Murphy last week said the Government would target the Pfizer vaccine to the highest priority groups - like frontline healthcare workers, aged care and disability staff, aged care and disability residents and quarantine and border workers. "These orders allowing larger groups and more capacity will lift up small businesses, keep schools open and get us closer to normal".

So they said they're working with labs that are doing sequencing and they expect to have some initial results by next week.

Oregon Health Authority Director Patrick Allen said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is asking states to collect data about people who test positive two or more weeks after receiving second doses.

People can also filter their searches by the type of site, such as local boards of health, retailers, local vaccination sites or hospital setting.

French health body: one vaccine dose if you have had Covid

Pressure has been mounting on Ms Ardern to start vaccinations for the country's 5 million people to take advantage of its rare position of having virtually eliminated the virus domestically.

"If the protection obtained after the second dose will disappear in a certain time, then we may need to give a reminder dose", he said.

"Only those who wish to get it via private sector will pay anything", he said.

"Vaccination will catch up to the variants if the vaccines remain effective", she said Friday.

On Wednesday, Covid-19 Minister Chris Hipkins said Cabinet had confirmed the approval of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, and preparations are under way to roll out the vaccine once it reaches New Zealand's shores.

She said another 20 per cent or so don't now want to be inoculated but could be persuaded.

Health officials said even when you're fully vaccinated, it's important that Oregonians continue to take steps to protect themselves and their loved ones.
