Grosse frayeur au Japon après un puissant séisme qui a touché Fukushima

Le séisme, qui s'est produit à 23h08 heure locale (15h08 en France), a été ressenti dans la capitale, Tokyo, où des immeubles ont tremblé.

L'agence de presse Kyodo faisait état de quelques dizaines de blessés, et des médias montraient des images d'une autoroute abîmée par un glissement de terrain. L'épicentre s'est situé à une profondeur de 60 kilomètres dans l'océan Pacifique et à environ 60 kilomètres des côtes de Fukushima, selon la JMA.

Près d'un million de foyers ont été privés d'électricité, et plusieurs liaisons de train à grande vitesse (Shinkansen) ont été interrompues, a annoncé le gouvernement.

Tepco, l'opérateur de la centrale nucléaire de Fukushima Daiichi gravement accidentée en mars 2011, a déclaré dans un tweet qu'il surveillait l'impact du séisme sur ses installations. Des membres des Forces japonaises d'autodéfense étaient dépêchées dans les zones affectées pour y distribuer notamment de l'eau, quelque 4800 foyers n'ayant plus accès à l'eau courante, selon Katsunobu Kato. Le Premier ministre, Yoshihide Suga, s'est rendu dans ses bureaux, et le gouvernement a mis en place un dispositif spécial pour suivre l'évolution de la situation avec les départements touchés, selon la chaîne de télévision publique NHK.

Plusieurs témoignages remontent sur les réseaux sociaux. A Fukushima, son intensité a été mesurée à 6 sur l'échelle de Richter. "Ma maison est sens dessus dessous", a-t-elle commenté.

Situé au carrefour de plusieurs grandes plaques tectoniques, le Japon est régulièrement touché par des tremblements de terre et a de strictes normes de construction pour que ses bâtiments soient capables de résister à de fortes secousses.

Rappelons qu'il y a dix ans, un violent tremblement de terre de magnitude de 9,1 avait secoué le Japon, entraînant le mort de milliers de personnes et causant d'énormes dommages.
