Now there's a chance that weather could play spoilsport during the final Test between India and Australia at The Gabba in Brisbane.
'The board has been told that the team has been given access to all the lifts in the hotel.
Queensland's border is now closed to travellers from Sydney because of COVID-19 cases, meaning Australia and India's squads had to shuffle into hotel quarantine after their chartered flight touched down in Brisbane.
The Times of India quoted an unnamed senior BCCI official, who claimed that CA gave fresh assurances on Tuesday regarding the hotel facilities. They can use a gym too. Sundar being considered by the team management, because of his ability to bowl and also bat a bit, will mean there will be no place for Saha to get in.
"The players are exhausted and have retired to their rooms".
In what comes as another big blow for the Indian team, Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the fourth Test at Brisbane.
If Bumrah is ruled out, he would become the latest in a lengthy list of Indian stars who are unavailable for the Gabba decider.
Injury woes have also hit the India camp ahead of the Brisbane Test, with Ravindra Jadeja ruled out with a dislocated thumb.
India are already missing several key players, including captain Virat Kohli who returned to India after the first Test to attend the birth of his child, and Bumrah's absence would add further pressure to their line-up ahead of the crucial match.
Jasprit Bumrah will reportedly miss the fourth Test due to an abdominal injury. Given Sundar's batting abilities, he and Ashwin can be expected to play the role of all-rounders, thus boosting India's batting order as against a depleted bowling attack that will now rest on the shoulders of Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur.
Australia had won the opener in Adelaide inside three days, before India came back to clinch the second Test in Melbourne.
With the BCCI unable to call up any reserves due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, Mohammed Sirej, who has played just two Tests, would likely lead the pace attack.
