What is a full moon?Eclipses of this sort are usually hard to observe, and the moon often appears to turn red as it passed through the Earth's shadow, directly behind the planet. However, our calendar is not perfectly synchronised with astronomical events, therefore, every now and then, a year has 13 full moons. Space says it would have just "tinted" the lower edge of the moon.
How are full moons named? This makes it the first full moon of summer, which began on June 1.
For Hindus, the June full Moon corresponds with Vat Purnima.
Like any full moon, the moon can appear reddish-pink which is caused by atmospheric conditions on Earth or a partial lunar eclipse.
The Lunar Eclipse would be seen from Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, South/East South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Antarctica.
Discussing astronomical events to look forward to this year, the scientist says,"There are going to be four lunar eclipses and two solar eclipses - the first annular solar eclipse will take place on June 21, and is going to be visible in certain locations in Northern India: Rajasthan, Haryana, Dehradun etc". The size of the moon will not reduce but it will get darker.
When will June 2020 full moon occur?
In appearance, the Old Farmer's Almanac said the Strawberry Moon will appear large and golden-hued when it rises above the horizon. The eclipse skipped North America, but the Virtual Telescope Project live-streamed the Italian lunar phenomenon. The eclipse is expected to peak at 12:54 am IST (June 6). Moon watchers in India will be able to watch the full moon with their naked eyes unless the sky is too cloudy.
