Hitman developer IO Interactive have revealed their new game, Project 007.
Called Project 007 (a working title, apparently), not much is known about the game but it is a massive surprise and one that was teased only very recently.
Imagine a game that's largely focused on stealth and careful exploration, intermixed with the use of clever espionage and the occasional bouts of action.
Upcoming video game Hitman 3 will be released on January 20, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia. Players could face off against fantastical, larger-than-life villains in everything from dingy warehouses to high-society parties. Project 007 is a working title, and will feature a completely original Bond tale as the secret agent attempts to earn their 00 status. For now, let's just be happy there's a new Bond game on its way. The company is now recruiting talent and it's unlikely that we'll see any substantial gameplay for some time.
What seems more likely is that it's a new IP entirely. There hasn't been a Bond game since.
Judging by the careers website, it looks like there will be single-player and multiplayer, at least if you go by the fact that they're looking for a Lead Multiplayer Network Programmer for an "Unannounced Project" that's nearly certainly Project 007.
