The Proteas will prepare for a three ODI and three T20I series against England in Cape Town, where approximately 50 Covid-19 tests were conducted prior to them entering a bio-secure environment.
"One player has returned a positive test result and two players were considered close contacts based on the risk assessment undertaken by the medical team", a CSA statement said.
All three were placed in immediate isolation after assessment by the CSA medical team. The three were not identified.Читайте также: Flu numbers down and experts say it's because of COVID-19 measures
"At this stage, none of these players will be replaced for the tour, but two replacement players will be included into the squad for the purposes of the inter-squad practice matches that will be played on Saturday, 21 November". The series, which will be played behind closed doors, gets underway with the first Twenty20 match in Cape Town on November 27.
Meanwhile, the entire England squad that arrived in Cape Town on Tuesday, and who are also staying at the Vineyard Hotel along with the Proteas, have all tested negative.
All three players are asymptotic but are being closely monitored. As a precautionary measure, CSA has put two players who were considered to be close contacts under self-isolation.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
