Actor Lukas Gage shared a video of a Zoom audition in which a director insulted his apartment.
So, if you didn't catch that, the director immediately began with, "These people live in these tiny apartments, like I'm looking at his, y'know, background, and he's got his TV, and y'know". "I know it's a s**ty apartment", Gage replied.
In the comments on his Instagram video, we learned that Lukas did NOT get the part, but that he did land a role in a new project with Molly Shannon that is now filming in Hawaii! "I am mortified." Maybe the director really was sorry (I'm sure he was), but his tone isn't exactly apologetic. Lukas played it cool and told him that he could help him upgrade his living situation by hiring him.
However, that did not stop him from posting on Twitter.
Fans quickly rallied behind the actor as one said, "I don't get how people can shit talk about other people living conditions". Have they never been in such a situation? "Have they lived their whole lives or in some rich house?" Someone, meanwhile, asked Lukas to just drop the name of the director. Page Six picked up on comments from the 25-year-old actor this week in which he put the Kingsman director, Matthew Vaughn, on blast for saying that his apartment was too small.
Sydney Sweeney wrote, "OMG.I CAN'T EVEN", adding, "Also ur apartment looks better than mine, can I move in? It's possible that you live in some palace penthouse and use yourself and your camera to turn on your television". "What's the director complaining about?" another user opined. Gage captioned the video, "PSA if you're a s**t talking director make sure to mute ur s**t on zoom [meetings]".
Musician Joe Jonas, the husband of Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner wrote, "Handled like a champ" while Madmen star January Jones commented, "Classy response Lukas". However, some others said it was not.
