Coronavirus: Myles Garrett to miss Philadelphia Eagles game after positive test

While the team did not specifically say Garrett had tested positive. the dots appeared to connect when Cleveland officials made the roster move announcement Friday. He now leads the National Football League with 35 sacks, although the Eagles could have Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz back from an injury for the first time since Week 6 and could increase the workload for receiver Alshon Jeffery after he returned from an injury last week. He also has an NFL-high four forced fumbles.

Earlier on Friday the Browns released a statement confirming that a player had tested positive for COVID-19. "Contact tracing has been conducted and the individual has self-isolated".

Because Garrett hadn't been around his teammates all week, the Browns were able to determine there were other no high-risk close contacts and were able to go in with a semi-normal Friday workday - whatever "normal" means these days.

Coach Kevin Stefanski said Kendall Lamm would start at right tackle if Conklin is unable to play.

Though the practice facility remains open, Cleveland is in the NFL's intensive protocol and holding all meetings remotely.
