A medical practitioner in Lagos, Dr. Cosmas Odoemena, says Russian Federation has set a bad precedent that can affect safety measures for the production of vaccines in future.
The chief executive of the world's largest manufacturer of vaccines, Adar Poonawalla, has said dampened the hopes of a COVID-19 vaccine by year-end in an interview with the Financial Times.

According to AFP, "The researchers identified what they said appeared to be a number of duplications in figures presented and concluded that the data within the study was "highly unlikely" to be correct".
Prof Robin Shattock, research lead on the Imperial vaccine, said: "A number of groups around the world are now working on clinical trials for Covid-19 vaccines". A woman in the United Kingdom trial was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in July, but that event, which triggered the first pause, was deemed not to be related to the vaccine.
At the same time, the global coronavirus death toll has risen to 929,005, with more than 28 million infections on Monday. In fact, the vaccine-maker received a show-cause notice from the DCGI for not informing it immediately and halting the trial on the same day.
Valneva said the British government has also committed to invest into expanding the company's manufacturing site in Scotland which would allow it to become a major vaccine facility.
