Two men were shot in Southeast Portland Sunday night in separate incidents that took place in the soupy outdoor weather conditions caused by the nearby wildfires.
Authorities said police officers and firefighters responded to a brush fire on East Burnside where it crosses over Interstate-205 around 4:30 p.m. on September 13.
In a unusual reoccurrence, Lopez was arrested again on Monday for starting six more small fires along the highway at around 3:30am and rebooked.
In the early hours of Monday morning, the same suspect was again arrested after allegedly starting six more fires. Firefighters quickly extinguished a section of grass that was ablaze along the freeway.
Officers recovered a plastic bottle with a wick and seized it as evidence, posting a photo of it in their report.
Portland police responded shortly after 3:30a.m.to reports of multiple fires burning along the west side of the same freeway. Half of the fires were put out by the fire department and the other half by members of the community. Lopez was found walking along the shoulder with a lighter.
45, was arrested for using a Molotov Cocktail to start the brush fire and booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of reckless burning and second degree disorderly conduct. No one was injured and no structures were burnt.
The suspect was identified as Domingo Lopez Jr. He was issued additional citations for six counts of reckless burning. Investigators are working to determine if more charges are warranted, according to police.

The victim of the shooting was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
