NY rapper Cardi B is done-done with Offset. She reportedly filed the docs in Offset's home state of Georgia Tuesday and is seeking a dissolution of marriage. A divorce petition was filed in Superior Court, Fulton County, Georgia by Belcalis Almanzar v. Kiari Cephus, Hollywood Unlocked first reported.
Ahead of the filing, Cardi B shared a post to her Instagram Story that now has fans looking at it in new light. Issues could range from custody to property division.
The duo shares a daughter, 2, named Kulture.
The filing also states that Cardi, who's listed as the petitioner, "shows the Court that she is a fit and proper person to have legal custody of the minor child with final decision-making authority over legal custody matters, and to have primary physical custody of the minor child". A hearing has been set for November 4.
She is seeking child support money from Offset, as well as requesting that he pay her legal expenses.
The two first got engaged back in 2017. (They didn't announce their nuptials until the following year.) Offset was dogged with cheating rumors and Cardi B defended her decision to try and work things out.
Cardi, 27, and the Migos singer, 28, secretly Wednesday in 2017, just months after they began dating.
"It's like everybody is coming down my neck like, 'Why are you not leaving him?" I didn't want to go to marriage counselling. I know I look good. I know I could get any man I want - any basketball player, football player. This is my life.
Offset and Cardi B briefly split in 2018 before sparking reconciliation rumours in that December when they were spotted together in Puerto Rico, and later confirming speculation they had rekindled their romance when they attended the 2019 Grammy Awards together.
