"Her cell is [still] searched multiple times a day and she has been forced to undergo numerous body scans", the document continues, adding it is now apparent that such treatment is "a reaction to the circumstances surrounding the pretrial detention and death of Mr Epstein". She was arrested in New Hampshire over a month ago on charges that she facilitated and aided Epstein by recruiting, grooming, and sexually exploiting minor girls.
He has vehemently denied the allegations insisting he has no recollection of ever meeting Ms Roberts-Giuffre, despite a picture being published showing him with his arm around her at Ms Maxwell's Belgravia home.
The reaction of USA prison officials to Jeffrey Epstein's suicide previous year is to blame for the onerous conditions a British socialite faces in jail while awaiting trial on charges that she procured teenage girls for Epstein to abuse a quarter-century ago, her lawyers say.
Ghislaine Maxwell's attorneys have claimed that her private Brooklyn jailhouse calls with them are being unlawfully recorded, in violation of New York State laws, according to a newly unveiled filing haded over to a federal judge. In a fresh update to her case, bombshell new photos obtained by the New York Post show Jeffrey Epstein's alleged sex-slave recruiters - Ghislaine Maxwell and modeling-agency pal Jean-Luc Brunel - cavorting on the hedge-funder's "Pedophile Island".
Lawyers for Maxwell did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Maxwell is separately asking a federal appeals court to block the release from a separate lawsuit of a 2016 deposition about her sex life, saying publicity could make getting a fair trial impossible.
That court is scheduled to hear oral arguments on September 22. Her lawyers argue that the defendant is unable to adequately prepare for her trial defense due to the "onerous" conditions of her confinement resulting from the purported prison suicide of Epstein.
"These prison guards constantly observe Ms Maxwell and take notes on her every activity, including her phone conversations with defence counsel", they said. Some of the guards do not appear to be regular prison employees, the lawyers noted.
A lawyer representing seven women who say they were abused by Epstein previously told The Epoch Times that he is anxious that Maxwell will end up dead.
