The action-packed opening scene of The Umbrella Academy season 2 has been released forward of its premiere later this week - watch below.
Steve Blackman (Legion, Altered Carbon) reprises his role as showrunner/executive producer for Season 2, which draws from the "Dallas" comic book story arc by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá.
Starring the likes of Ellen Page, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Mary J. Blige, the first series revolved around a band of "estranged siblings with extraordinary powers" after they are reunited in the wake of their father's death - a mystery they must solve together.
In the second season of Umbrella Academy, we will see that the Hargreeves kinfolk spread throughout the 1960s in Dallas, Texas. But instead of a nation mourning the JFK assassination, he finds the streets overrun by Russian troops and tanks, with a newspaper headline blaring, "Soviets Attack U.S., JFK Declares War on Reds". Just when Five is about to join the fight, though, Hazel zaps in and whisks him away to safety.
A full series two synopsis reads: "Five warned his family (so, so many times) that using his powers to escape from Vanya's 2019 apocalypse was risky". Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they're the only ones who survived.
"Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. But seriously, no pressure or anything".
Netflix has publicly disclosed the official summary and brief virtual of "The Umbrella Academy " season 2 which will arrive on July 31.
