The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients was recorded at 65.43 percent, while the positivity rate is at 11.81 percent, the data stated.
Meanwhile, India has tested a total of 1,93,58,659 samples so far. As per the COVID-19 India tracker at 12 pm, India has 17,01,307 cases of coronavirus. So far, a total of 16,95,988 positive cases of corona have been found in the country.
In the global platform, India continues to register and maintain the lowest COVID-19 mortality rate, it said and asserted that this is a testimony to the focused, coordinated, pre-emptive, graded and evolving "test, track, treat" strategy and efforts of the Centre, states and Union Territories.
"India has achieved the milestone of more than 1 million recoveries, which has taken the recovery rate to 64.54%".
Over 200,000 fresh cases have been detected across the country in past four days. It is followed by Tamil Nadu, which has 2,39,978 cases and then Delhi, which logged 1,34,403 cases. Mr Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party government had allowed hotels to reopen from Saturday and a one-week trial for the weekly markets in the city as part of "Unlock 3".
As many as 5,172 new COVID-19 cases and 98 deaths were reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours, taking total cases to 1,29,287 including 53,648 discharges and 2,412 deaths. Total cases rose to 1,36,716, including 1,22,131 recovered/discharged/migrated cases and 3,989 deaths. This is the third consecutive day that more than 50,000 cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in the country. Kerala experienced reported the country's initially COVID-19 affected individual on January 30. State capital Kolkata witnessed the highest single-day spike in deaths with 21 fatalities due to the virus.
Authorities have also attributed the mounting caseload to the influx of people from other states and countries since the government eased restrictions.
