According to the allegations, Melissa Lingafelt, better known for her stage name Jimi Ono, claimed that Drake physically and verbally abused her during their relationship which ended almost a decade ago.
In her video Wednesday, Lingafelt said: "First, I would like to start out with saying I don't really care if anyone believes me as this is my story and my life and something I went through. It wasn't until recently that I actually realised that abuse isn't something that all women have to go through", she said in her post.
She stated that she was 16 years old and homeschooled when she began dating Bell and moved in with him; the verbal abuse, which she described as "the worst type of verbal abuse you could ever imagine", started a year later, she claimed. However, the worst part of the abuse came when the actor dragged her down the stairs in their home, causing her face to hit every step. I have so many witnesses, I have photos, it was my life. In addition to her TIkTok video, Melissa also took to Instagram to claim that she "has photos" that prove that her allegations about Drake are true. As our relationship ended - more than a decade ago - we, unfortunately, both called each other awful names, as often happens when couples are breaking up. "But that is it".
Bell claimed Lingafelt reached out a year ago for "financial support" and he sent her money. I do not know if today's behavior is some kind of misguided quest for more money or attention. He added, "I can not and will not allow these offensive and defamatory allegations to go unchallenged and I am reviewing my legal options". However, she did not share any of those images to her social media page.
Melissa, who was the first runner-up at Miss Teen USA in 2006, also explained that she chose to come forward with her story in the hopes that others would do the same.
"Everyone that really knows me and has been a friend of mine for the past 15 years, knows all too well of the abuse that Drake Bell put me through", the performer wrote on IG on Wednesday night.
She added: "Nobody wants attention from abuse!"
Two additional former partners - an ex-girlfriend from high school and actress Paydin Layne LoPachin - also alleged Bell abused them. I hope this message reaches young girls, and that no one has to go through what I did.
