Now, in the wake of the renewal of the third season which also came along with some bad news for several others ABC shows, Nathan Fillion took to his social media account to share his reaction to The Rookie returning for their season three.
On the cancellation front, ABC confirms that Single Parents, Schooled, Emergence, Bless This Mess and the Tiffany Haddish-led reboot of Kids Say the Darndest Things have ended their respective runs (more on those axings here).
Among new series, ABC has picked up the Kyra Sedgwick-fronted empty nester sitcom Call Your Mother (fka My Village).
The full list of series now renewed for new seasons include American Housewife, which was picked up for a fifth season, Black-ish picked up for a seventh and its freshman prequel series Mixed-ish for a sophomore outing, The Conners for a third season, The Goldbergs for an eighth season, A Million Little Things and The Rookie for third seasons and freshman drama Stumptown for a second season. The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, mixed-ish, Shark Tank, 20/20, and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will also return with new seasons.
"At a time when we are physically apart and shared experiences matter more than ever, these shows will build on the strategy that has made us No. 1 this season-bringing people together, creating cultural moments, and making content that entertains and inspires across generations and demographics", said Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment, in a statement. They discover that the sisters are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, and it become a race against the clock.
The aforementioned shows join the already renewed Grey's Anatomy, Station 19, The Good Doctor, American Idol, and America's Funniest Home Videos; as well as new series Big Sky, Call Your Mother, and Supermarket Sweep to make up the network's fall schedule.
