According to Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, stricter measures have been taken as social distancing was not properly implemented by people.

It was decided that parents should be responsible for the conduct of children who they keep at home to ensure that they adhere to social distancing arrangements in place.
All places of worship including mosques, churches and synagogues are closed to the public as the Prime Minister calls on all people of faith to pray at home.

Classrooms should remain open until the end of this term, though parents could take their children out of school if they preferred, Mr Morrison also told reporters after a meeting of the national Cabinet.
From midday on Monday 23rd March, the following non-essential services will close: Registered & licensed clubs, licensed premises in hotels and pubs, entertainment venues, casinos, cinemas, restaurants & cafes (can continue with takeaway & delivery), indoor sporting venues, places of worship.

Ms Cupper said the confirmed cases showed why people could not be complacent.
