Klein, Robert E. Klein/Invision/AP Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame American singer-songwriter Jackson Browne performs at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, Tuesday, May 15, 2018, in Boston.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the veteran songwriter confirmed that he has contracted COVID-19.
"I feel lucky that I'm not really badly affected", he said.
"I'm in the middle of trying to call everyone I know to discuss with them how they are feeling and whether or not they have symptoms", he said. And while the delicate tune was written before the COVID-19 outbreak, Browne felt the lyrics were appropriate given the state of America, as he sings, "I wanna see you holding out your light/ I wanna see you light the way/ But whether everything will be alright/ It's just a little soon to say".
Spanish opera singer Placido Domingo came forward with his positive test earlier this week; the 79-year-old is said to be in "good health" and is self-quarantining with his family.
"It's obvious that the one thing you can do to make a difference in everyone's chances is to quarantine yourself", Browne said. I was told today by my doctor there's a 19-year-old on a ventilator in Santa Monica.
"I'm presuming I got this flying back and forth to NY to do Love Rocks show at the Beacon", he told the magazine's Angie Martoccio.

"I'm presuming I got this flying back and forth to NY to do [the] Love Rocks show at the Beacon". 'And now it turns out that several people who were at that show have tested positive.
"My symptoms are really pretty mild, so I don't require any kind of medication and certainly not hospitalization or anything like that", Browne said.
The singer cautioned fans, 'There's so much we don't know.
