Jada and Pac met when they were in high school at Baltimore School for the Arts in Maryland and became close friends before she met Will.
Charlamagne thought the two would have had a lot in common, as did Jada.
Unfortunately Will Smith and Tupac could never speak with one another. They formed a bond early and their stars started rising around the same time.

Will goes on to admit that, even though they were in the same rooms at times, he could never bring himself to approach the late rapper on a truce tip, and the feeling was vice versa from 2Pac's perspective.
Smith, who first crossed paths with Jada filming the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1994, said that while he knew there wasn't any romantic entanglement between Tupac and Jada, he couldn't help suspecting otherwise.
Smith implied it was because his image was considered soft compared to Tupac's. "Like, 'I'm telling you, y'all are so similar you will love him, ' and I just never..."
