Meet Perdita, not for the faint of heart.
The reportedly unfriendly feline likes "staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again", "lurking in dark corners, being queen of her domicile" and "fooling shelter staff into thinking she's sick", it wrote. We have given her privacy and quiet as much as possible.
Adopting a pet is a really wonderful decision as you'll be taking an animal out of a shelter and into your (hopefully) loving arms.
After a trip to the vet, though, the shelter workers realized that she wasn't sick, "she's just a jerk", according to a Facebook post from the shelter. "We are carefully considering each of the 50-plus applications we have received for her. Love and support for Perdita has poured in from all over the world".
Perdita dislikes kittens, dogs, children and hugs but is "ready to be socially awkward with a socially awkward human who understands personal space", the ad concludes.
"Obviously we don't know all the cats in the world, so maybe she's not the worst, but for us, she's pretty close", Amber Lowery, executive director of the shelter, told CTV News Channel.
"I'm looking at her right now, and she's rolling around in her little bed, looking all sweet and cute, but the minute you try to rub her, she slaps you".
"Turns out she's just a jerk", the rescue said in a Facebook post that has since garnered more than 2,700 shares.
Lowery is the one who crafted the brutally honest adoption post and it quickly became a hit with commenters on social media.
Thousands of Facebook users wrote comments on the cat's ad.
Good luck Perdita! We hope you find the ideal grumpy owner who understands your grumpy ways!
"Us too ... like soon", the shelter responded.
