The long and winding road that led the Los Angeles Clippers to clandestinely land two of the biggest stars in the National Basketball Association in a single swoop this offseason had a few interesting stops along the way, including the home of the most visible court side supporter of the Toronto Raptors.
A pair of offseason meetings between Kawhi Leonard and Paul George played a role in the plan that eventually resulted in both players suiting up for the Los Angeles Clippers. It took some clever machinations behind-the-scenes to pull off, but the duo had some help from Drake to organize their escape route.
The house became a backdrop for one of the most intriguing offseason plots in National Basketball Association history, as the top free agent in Leonard helped concoct a plan to get George traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Clippers in exchange for a pair of players and an unprecedented haul of five first-round picks.
I'm fairly sure Drake has mentioned he's from Toronto on one or two occasions in his music, and in 2010, he asserted he was a "Raptors fan to the death" before the claim was cast into doubt three years later when he was turned away after trying to celebrate in the locker room with the Heat after they won an National Basketball Association title.
The rest, of course, is history.
As of right now, the Clippers are fourth place in the Western Conference although much of this has to do with the fact that the team isn't healthy.
If they end up winning it all, Drake will have had his hand in two straight National Basketball Association titles.
