Last night, Arrowverse fans received a shock when Ezra Miller's big screen, DCEU version of Barry Allen showed up to trade a few lines of dialogue with Grant Gustin's small screen take on Flash. We also saw some Green Lanterns at the end of the event, along with Star Girl and the Doom Patrol (!), and it was all so much fun. However, in the Arrow episode of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, the show made the decision to kill off Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell) for good this time, after resurrecting him as the Spectre at the start of the episode.
Grant later posted about the cameo on Instagram, writing, "How about that?"
It remains to be seen what, if any, impact this crossover between DC's movies and TV shows will have on future projects. NONE of us knew! Even though Arrow is actually done and we do say goodbye to Oliver Queen, part of me is like, 'Yeah, but you never know.' I died and I came back to life. "I guess I'm not accepting the death fully even though it is done". "Nobody's better at finding people, but they've got to be here to be found", Rene (Rick Gonzalez) told Sara (Caity Lotz) when she insisted that Oliver had to be somewhere. "Walter Hamada, the head of DC films, and I were happy to work with [Arrowverse Executive Producers] Greg [Berlanti] and Marc [Guggenheim] to wrangle the elements to deliver an epic experience for fans".
"Yes, he is really dead this time", she confirmed to the outlet.

Schwartz said of the potential spin-off, "I think it's definitely a way of honoring Oliver's legacy, because it's his child and also the women who fought alongside him". That humble beginning led to annual interactions between the Justice League of Earth-1 (Barry's home) and Earth-2 (Jay's home), and then a bigger and bigger DC multiverse, which eventually prompted comics' Crisis on Infinite Earths series, which condensed and simplified things considerably.
As for the series finale, Schwartz revealed that we will see Oliver in it, but pointed out, without sharing details, "we have the challenge of what is his role in the finale once he dies in eight?"
