When it comes to being a dad, Dwyane Wade is still an MVP.
On Thanksgiving, his wife and actress Gabrielle Union shared on her Instagram page a sweet family photo showing her with the National Basketball Association star, his 12-year-old son Zion and the couple's 1-year-old daughter, Kaavia James.
"As a parent my only goal is that my kids feel that i see them, love them and support them", he responded to another comment, which praised him and Union for "embracing their son's individuality". I truly hope that everyone gets the love, support and hugs they deserve" and added, in reference to her daughter's serious look at the camera, "Also Kaav ain't with the dumb s -.
"The messages of this policy statement are very much in line with the core principles of pediatrics, including the importance of using a nonjudgmental, family-based, developmentally appropriate approach", he told me. Wade was on the road with the Miami Heat and wrote on an Instagram story, "We support each other wide Pride!"
This isn't the first time Wade had to check homophobic comments, and sadly, it's surely not the last.
Earlier this year, Wade posted a picture of Zion and Union at Miami Beach Pride Parade, captioning it: "We support each other with Pride". Zion, then 11, attended the Pride event with Union and his siblings.
D-Wade and Union received a lot of love for their adamant support of Zion Wade.
In the original photo, Wade's son, Zion, sports acrylic nails and a crop top.
And as a father, it's his job to support them and encourage them to go down the paths they want to in life. Once you bring kids into this world, you become unselfish. "So, go and be your incredible self and we're going to sit back and just love you".
