It is with great sadness that ComingSoon.net must report (via The Hollywood Reporter) that beloved character actor and Jackie Brown Oscar-nominee Robert Forster has passed away at age 78. Over 100 film and television appearances later, the actor became one of the most respected figures in the industry. He recently featured in an action crime drama film which hit screens in the USA on Friday (12th October).
Condolences poured in Friday night on social media.
In an interview from a year ago, Forster recalled bumping into Tarantino in a coffee shop and having idle conversation.
Forster was most recently seen in Netflix's Breaking Bad epilogue El Camino, reprising a small but pivotal role that he played in the show towards its end in 2013.
Forster completed three additional projects in 2019: El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories and Werewolf.
"I had four kids, I took any job I could get", he said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune a year ago.
His role in Jackie Brown even earned him an Oscar nomination in 1997. "I was taking whatever fell through the cracks".
"And that's when I realised I was going to get another shot at a career", Forster said. He had appeared in the wildly popular Breaking Bad series.
He is survived by his four children Bobby, Elizabeth, Kate and Maeghan; his grandchildren Tess, Liam Jack and Olivia; and longtime partner Denise Grayson.
