On Thursday afternoon, police arrested Sendrick Johnson, 27, charging him with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury, Dallas police announced on Twitter.

The toddler was living with his aunt and had been placed in her temporary custody by the state Child Protective Services office, police Maj.
Jackson is described as an 18-month-old black male with black braided hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who spots him is being asked to contact police. By Thursday morning he had been missing for over 24 hours.

The children's mother, Dana Larocque, posted an impassioned plea on her Facebook page shortly after midnight July 11, which informed friends that York police's request for an Amber Alert had been denied and urged them to call the OPP "to push for an amber alert".
York police said that the search for the boys and their grandfather has attracted a significant amount of resources, including support from the Bureau of criminal investigation, canine and helicopter group.
She said the boy was gone when she woke up in the middle of the night, but couldn't explain how someone got into her home.
However, it is unclear whether the man the girl saw was the relative or if police are searching for a separate suspect, Geron said, adding that an investigator who specializes in interviewing children will further question the child. He was taken to jail on unrelated warrants.
"We don't know 100 percent of what happened", Jackson said.
"We were OK with that", Thomas said.
Now police are questioning Jackson's parents and aunt at Dallas police headquarters.
