The new parents will leave baby Archie (who enjoyed a day out at polo alongside his cousins on Wednesday) at home on Sunday evening to join the stars of the upcoming live-action revamp of the 1994 original Disney film for the European premiere in London's West End.
The song, called Spirit, will also be featured on an album she's curated called The Lion King: The Gift, a compilation of global artists.
"This is a new experience of storytelling", Beyoncé said in a statement. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film.
Beyonce teased the song by sharing a picture of herself opposite her lioness character on Instagram, much to the delight of her fans, including model Winnie Harlow. Adding sparkle and amping up the event several notches higher was Queen Bey aka Beyonce with her daughter Blue Ivy Carter. In an odd way, the power of this new Lion King comes from the outside: you soak up its astonishing photoreal visuals and marvel at the extraordinary progress that can occur within a single generation, yet still ache for everything that's made way for it.
While you still have to wait one week to see The Lion King movie (you can purchase tickets now), you can at least get into the safari spirit by listening to the album. It joins Disney's new slate of live-action film remakes, which includes Aladdin, Dumbo and, soon, The Little Mermaid.
The soundtrack will drop on July 11 and feature a version of Sir Elton John's "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" by the "Halo" hitmaker and Donald Glover, who voices Nala's love interest Simba in the film.
