"Mr Weinstein has engaged in behaviour that makes this representation unreasonably hard to carry out effectively and has insisted upon taking actions with which I have fundamental disagreements", Baez wrote.
In her own post-hearing press conference, Gloria Allred, who represents two of Weinstein's accusers in their civil cases, scoffed at Rotunno using her gender as a leg up.
In June, Rotunno had something to say about the #MeToo movement to The Wall Street Journal. She's espoused a philosophy that the movement is overblown and that women are "responsible for the choices they make".
Baez first gained fame representing Anthony, the Florida mom whose televised trial in 2011 ended in an acquittal on charges of killing her young daughter.
One of Weinstein's accusers, actress Rose McGowan, blasted Baez and Sullivan for agreeing to represent Weinstein after defending her in a drug case a year ago.
Weinstein's current team includes Damon Cheronis, from left, Donna Rotunno and Arthur Aidala.
At a previous hearing in April, Assistant District Attorney for the prosecution Joan Illuzzi indicated that their side of the case should take about three weeks to complete, and Baez indicated that the defense would need about one week in response.
She added that she and Cheronis are "honored to represent Mr Weinstein".
The pretrial hearing played out in open court, but two conversations among the judge and lawyers happened in secrecy.
