The husband told police that Linda died in a Texas hotel room during a road trip the couple was on and, rather than call the authorities, he chose to move her body into the vehicle and continue on to their destination.
The statement did not indicate where Puckett and his wife had been heading on their road trip, only that they had been driving along Interstate 10 in Arizona. The order was granted on February 6 and continued on Monday, according to court records obtained by ABC15. He said he moved her body into the auto and continued toward their destination.
Eloy Police Department said it was investigating whether Ms Puckett was murdered. Rodney Puckett was wearing only underwear. The Eloy Police Department is working with Texas authorities to determine if Linda's death was a result of homicide.
Puckett was arrested on suspicion of abandonment or concealment of a dead body, and it's not known whether he has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
According to reports, he was stated as having bipolar disorder.
With a population of 19,000, Eloy lies to the northwest of Tuscon and the southeast of Phoenix, about 300 miles from Texas and about 1,000 miles from Puckett's home in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
Earlier footage showed the couple from Sand Springs, Okla., walking into the room Sunday.
