Showtime has also released an unnerving first look trailer for the miniseries, in which Crowe's Ailes takes over Fox News and starts bending it to his will. Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Jeanine Pirro, Laura Ingraham, Megyn Kelly, and whatever trio of airheads is still on Fox & Friends are just some of the dispiriting voices in cable television news, and it's all thanks to one man: Roger Ailes. "We're gonna give them a vision of the world the way they want it to be".
Watch above, via Showtime. Sherman, who conducted interviews with more than 600 individuals for his book, wrote the first episode with Spotlight director and Oscar-winner Tom McCarthy. Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) will portray Brian Lewis, with Simon McBurney (The Theory of Everything) as Rupert Murdoch, and Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders) as Laurie Luhn.
The official description for the series reads: 'In today's politically charged media landscape, no figure looms larger, even after his passing, than Roger Ailes, who molded Fox News into a force that irrevocably changed the conversation about the highest levels of government'. As it was previously reported, Ailes had to resign as CEO and chairman of the company after he was accused of harassing women.
Gretchen filed a lawsuit against him and claimed he continuously made advances on her person.
The episode has now also been turned into a film called Fair and Balanced, starring Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman.
Fair And Balanced will focus on the various female Fox News personnel and their allegations against Roger Ailes.
Production on the series is now underway in New York City.
