The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday night's drawing has grown to the largest in the game's history, a whopping $667 million.
Someone in SC claimed the $1.5 billion jackpot from the Mega Millions lottery held in October 2018, ending the mystery of whether anyone would ever come forward to say they had won. The winning numbers were drawn at 11 p.m. ET.
The estimated jackpot for the drawing is $245 million. If the victor chooses the annuity option, the jackpot would be paid out over 29 years.
That means the drawing on Tuesday, Apr. 16 will be worth $157 million with a cash option of $95.4 million.
The jackpot had swelled because nobody has won since July 24.
"Everyone is talking about the jackpot and running out to buy tickets for tonight's drawing", Gordon Medenica, Mega Millions lead director and Maryland Lottery and Gaming director, said in a press release. That victor was the second time in the last month that a player from MI has won $1 million in the Mega Millions lottery.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The newest Mega Millions lottery drawing offers a lot of money for someone with a ticket and a whole lot of luck.
The Powerball jackpot up for grabs Wednesday night will be a hefty $345 million, with a cash value of $199 million.
The mystery of who won the $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot in SC has been solved, but the victor wants to remain anonymous.
The drawing comes a week after a lucky player in MI won $1 million playing the Mega Millions.
