The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene issued the order in early April, commanding that unvaccinated children living in several zip codes in the Brooklyn are be immediately vaccinated, in response to a sudden and alarming rise in the number of measles cases reported in the hipster-occupied borough of Manhattan.
The five confirmed cases are not related to previously reported incidents of people with the infection traveling through the county, largely at Los Angeles International Airport, and do not include any cases possibly identified in Long Beach or Pasadena, the L.A. County Department of Public Health said in a news release.
People who are known to have been in close proximity to the person have been contacted and provided with public health advice.
UCLA has confirmed one of the infected people is a student.

Now, Alabama health officials are anxious about the disease spreading to our state. A multi-state outbreak in 2015 linked to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park in Orange County totaled 147 cases.
