Wednesday's hearing on the child support payments was sealed to the public, but Kelly's attorneys confirmed afterward that there would be no change in the $21,000 monthly child support payments he is required to pay, reports CBS Chicago.
Following the Surviving R. Kelly documentary that uncovered a number of allegations of sexual abuse made against the R&B singer, the parents of one of Kelly's "live-in girlfriends" have given an interview blaming themselves for what happened to their daughter.
According to TMZ, the call had come from the National Human Trafficking Hotline, and the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer - who was recently charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse - had been meeting with his legal team at his house for at least two hours before police arrived.
"I promise, we will straighten this out", Kelly told reporters Saturday. "What I trusted was I raised my child right", her dad said.
R. Kelly is now facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, and will return to court on March 22. Kelly was indicted last month on the charges involving four victims, three of whom were underage, in incidents spanning more than a decade.
Kelly is facing 10 felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse relating to incidents between 1998 and 2010, but has been defended publicly by two women, Azriel Clary and Joycelyn Savage, who now live with him.
"I didn't do this stuff! And then now I'm living with regret for the rest of my life?"
Alice Clary went on to tell king that she heard her daughter tried to leave Kelly's home twice and was brought back both times.
Kelly's lawyer, Steve Greenberg, was approached for comment, and told People, "It is offensive that anyone gives this any credibility".
"If you can't play a show, if you can't go out on tour, if they're not streaming your music anymore, obviously you're going to have financial problems".
Kelly's publicist, Darryll Johnson, said Kelly has no assets to sell, reports CBS Chicago.
A man walks in front of the Trump Tower in Chicago on Oct, 7, 2016. However, his request for reduced child support payments was denied.
"He can't work", Johnson said.
