The mission came to an end last summer when Opportunity became trapped in what eventually became a global dust storm on Mars.
In the time spent there, Opportunity set the record for the longest one-drive on Mars, 721 feet (220 meters) across the Martian surface.
The image shows where Opportunity will rest until humans are able to touch down on the red planet in the future.
A dust storm blanketed its location in June previous year.
The color panorama was built via a sequence of 354 images snapped by the rover's Panoramic Camera between May 13 and June 10, 2018.
"This final panorama embodies what made our Opportunity rover such a remarkable mission of exploration and discovery", Opportunity project manager John Callas, of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, said in a statement Tuesday (March 12). In the immediate foreground just left of center you can see a rocky outcrop that the vehicle had been investigating using its robotic arm in its final days. "Just to the left of that, rover tracks begin their descent from over the horizon and weave their way down to geologic features that our scientists wanted to examine up close", he said.
"And to the far right and left are the bottom of Perseverance Valley and the floor of Endeavour crater, pristine and unexplored, waiting for visits from future explorers".
Taken on June 10, 2018, this noisy, incomplete image was the last data NASA's Opportunity rover sent back from Mars.
'And when that day arrives, some portion of that first footprint will be owned by the men and women of Opportunity, and a little rover that defied the odds and did so much in the name of exploration'. When the light finally returned to the surface after the dust had settled, Opportunity was still silent and would remain that way for months, despite repeated attempts to wake it back up. This panorama combines photos taken through three filters that capture images in different wavelengths - near-infrared, green and violet.
Over the next months after that, the agency made more than thousand attempts to contact the rover.
