Those who think they may have contracted measles should call ahead to their doctor's office or hospital before attending so that measures to prevent the virus' further spread can be implemented.

The vaccine is free at local community health centres or pharmacies may also have it available. It remains an important cause of death among young children globally, despite the availability of a safe and effective vaccine.
