Alas, don't expect that Chris Pratt dad bod to be around for long, as the actor is apparently on something called the "Daniel Fast". It's 21 days of prayer and fasting and it's going to coincide also coincidentally with the Lego Movie 2 junket.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part is set to hit US theaters on February 8. "So, by the time you see me, I'll probably be hallucinating", he said.
The diet isn't a full fast, and is similar to a vegan diet. "It's super exciting actor stuff", Pratt said on his Instagram Story on December 10.
But what exactly is the Daniel Fast?
It's a biblically based partial fast based on two accounts of the Prophet Daniel's fasting experiences (seed Daniel 1 and 10) and typical Jewish fasting principles. As Pratt said, the diet program, which apparently aims to have participants "draw nearer to God", lasts 21 days and involves extended prayer and counseling.
The Christian and Hollywood actor jokingly said abstaining from foods including meat, dairy, eggs and solid fats could affect his performance during promotional interviews from his latest movie.
Daniel Fast participants can only drink water and eat foods "grown from a seed", which includes all fruits and vegetables, as well as whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds.
"Some are referring to the fast as a diet, a common error when people don't understand spiritual fasting".
