The judges were unanimous in their decision to save Roberts for her Quickstep to Don't Rain on My Parade over Venn and Karen Clifton's Rumba to Maria in Musicals Week.
Karen and Charles were voted out unanimously about the judges after competing in the dance off against Ashley Roberts and her partner Pasha Kovalev.
Venn and Clifton had endured their fair share of dance offs before their number was finally up, but now that Roberts is becoming a regular in the bottom two, the other couples must be feeling the strain.
Craig Revel Horwood told them: "I truly loved both performances and of course, I hate saying the word 'difficult" but I have to.
Voted out just ahead of the semi-finals, Charles thanked everyone for their support as he praised Karen.
Bruno Tonioli explained that Ashley and Pasha were "stronger, more accomplished, more complicated and more exciting". When asked by presenter Tess Daly about his time on the show, the Casualty actor said: "Before I go through dances or memories I have to pay extreme homage to this woman here because Karen Clifton turned me into a promising dancer". A promising dancer honestly! I now know I can do a bit of ballroom and Salsa.
"This woman has been by my side and supported me, she's been strict, she's been solid, she's been caring and loving, sensitive and intuitive, and I'm adamant that without her I don't know how I would have got to this level". That was our highest score and the first time Karen ever got a 10. Many fans noticed the sweet moment, too, taking to social media to react.
Even Craig Revel Horwood weighed in on the debate ahead of the dance off, telling Roberts: "This isn't your dance genre at all, and I think you're fantastic the way you've picked it up". "Thank you judges because you guys saved our butts a couple of times so thank you, thank you".
Next weekend will see the five remaining couples - who also include Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell and Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice - perform two routines each in their bid to nab a place in the final on December 15.
Speaking after his elimination, Charles said: "I am so thankful and appreciative of this opportunity".
