All top players set for Australian Open in January

The last time the basis of the Open championship of Australia has not played none of the Ukrainian tennis players in 2008.

The 37-year-old legendary female player Serena Williams, who is a seven-time victor of the Australian Open, has announced her return to the tournament next year.

After falling in the final round of qualifying a year ago, Bernard Tomic has earned direct entry to next month's main draw after an encouraging season highlighted by his fourth ATP title win in Chengdu in September. The 2017 Australian Open win was the 23rd individual Grand Slam title for Williams. Australian Open 2019 will become the 107 edition of the Australian Open and the 51 in the Open Era as well as the first Grand Slam of the year.

The tournament of Australian Open 2019 will comprise of various sports events for qualified players in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Petra Martić and Donna Vekić in the female competition, and Marin Čilić, Borna Ćorić and Ivo Karlović in the men's competition, are set to play the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open, which will be held at the Melbourne Park grounds from January 14 to 27 next year, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on December 5, 2018.

Organisers said the world's top 102 women and top 101 men have all confirmed they will be playing.


The 31-year-old Scot has also entered the tournament with his ranking of No.2.

The evergreen Federer will be back to defend his title, along with long-time adversary Novak Djokovic.

Reigning champion, Roger Federer, will be gunning for a record seventh men's single crown from January 14-27, while Caroline Wozniacki will embark on her maiden grand slam title defense at Melbourne Park.

In the aftermath, Roger Federer said Williams "went too far".
