Disney Channel has set the premiere date for its upcoming live-action Kim Possible movie - and released a new trailer for the comedic action-adventure, which sees newcomer Sadie Stanley stepping into Kim's iconic cargo trousers. Check out the trailer below as well as the synopsis for the film (via Deadline). She is ready to tackle the challenge head-on, just as she has with everything else in life, but her confidence is shaken when she faces roadblocks at every turn - getting lost in the confusing hallways, being late to class and facing rejection during soccer tryouts from her frenemy, Bonnie. With Kim's guidance and friendship, Athena transforms into the newest member of Team Possible. As is all too common in life, Athena starts to usurp Kim and joins up with Drakken and Shego with an evil plan to finally stop Kim from stopping all the bad guys.
Sadie Stanley and The Goldbergs' Sean Giambrone will star as Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable in the flick, with Erika Tham, Ciara Wilson and Issac Ryan Brown. And Kim Possible fans shouldn't worry, Rufus, the naked mole-rat, will be there to help Team Possible stop super villains Drakken (Todd Stashwick) and Shego (Taylor Ortega). McCorkle, Schooley and Zanne Devine (I, Tonya, Easy A) serve as executive producers.
The cast also features Alyson Hannigan as Kim's Mom, Dr. Ann Possible; and Connie Ray as Kim's grandmother, Nana Possible. The movie was co-directed and co-produced by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky (MECH X-4). The show ran for 87 episodes and inspired two popular animated original movies. Those include 2005's Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama, which was the first animated title in the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, and 2003's Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time.
