Chadwick Boseman allegedly received $2 Million for Black Panther, and Brie Larson ended up with $5 million and is locked in for a seven-picture deal. For example, Chris Evans initially signed a six-picture deal that included not only his Captain America films (Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War) but also his appearances in the Avengers films (Marvel's Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Avengers: Infinity War).
Two of those movies, of course, will arrive next year, with solo film Captain Marvel in March followed by Avengers 4 in April, but what about the other five?
In short, Johansson has finally earned her way to a big dog salary in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Robert Downey Jr. still dwarfing everyone else's paycheck. The budget was $100 million for Infinity War, but that went on to earn $2 billion worldwide.
But before you start taking all these numbers to the bank, it's worth noting that a Marvel spokesperson denied Johansson's reported salary, saying, "Marvel Studios disputes the accuracy of these numbers, and as a matter of policy, we never publicly disclose salaries or deal terms".
So yeah, believe what you want, I guess?
Earlier today a report from THR revealed that Captain Marvel was going to be the first of a seven-picture deal that Larson had signed with Marvel and included multiple franchises, but Brie Larson took to social media to dispute that.
Considering that Johansson has been Black Widow longer than Evans or Hemsworth have played their heroic counterparts, it is disappointing that they have waited this long to give her the same amount of money compared to her male co-stars. Let us know down in the comments.
