Syracuse routed Florida State 30-7 on Saturday in a game in which the Seminoles' offense was absolutely inept. He accounted for 387 yards of Syracuse's offense and all three touchdowns, but the Seminoles escaped with a 27-24 victory.
Florida State went 70 yards in eight plays and were almost stopped inside the 'Cuse five yardline, but a pass interference call at the front of the end zone off a dropped pass on fourth down gave the Noles a fresh set of downs, and Francois finished the drive with his legs to make it 23-7. The Seminoles were 4-0 in the Carrier Dome entering the game and had won 10 straight games in the series since 1966. They were outgained by 201 yards, converted on just one of their 14 third downs and quarterback Deondre Francois, who was under pressure throughout the game, was sacked four times. It was blown out by Virginia Tech in its season opener and barely managed to beat FCS member Samford at home last week.
Syracuse added a 13-yard rushing touchdown from Dontae Strickland to seal the deal with 3:19 left in regulation.Читайте также: Canelo defeats Golovkin by majority decision after rematch in Las Vegas
The running game wasn't much of a factor for the Seminoles either, with Cam Akers leading the way, gaining 53 yards on 10 attempts. The drive marked the first time in the game the FSU defense was unable to hold Cuse to a field goal attempt once they were forced into the red zone.
Florida State continues to struggle under new head coach Willie Taggart.
The Seminoles failed to find any momentum offensively. Even if Dungey misses more games, DeVito proved he's a capable backup against a foe with a storied past.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
