Hold it right next to an iPhone XS and yes, you can tell the difference, but it definitely looks more saturated and OLED-like than your average LCD. In addition to the iPhone XS and the bigger XS Max-this year's follow-ups to the iPhone X-Apple unveiled the rumored "budget" version of the handset, the iPhone XR.
And, Schiller said, the XS line-up features 'the most handsome iPhone we've ever made'. The only potential hiccup to a record-breaking quarter is the fact that the iPhone XS won't launch until October. The display gets native support for True Tone and wide colour support, which Apple claims can deliver a better viewing experience. Unlike its more expensive models, it only pushes a resolution of 1792×828 pixels, which is below Full HD.
Similar to the iPhone X, the XR gets a notch which also houses the same advance sensors which enable Face ID authentication.
Apple will continue to sell the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 in regular and Plus sizes. Furthermore, the Xr model lacks 3D Touch, but instead, incorporates a "Haptic Touch", which Apple is marketing, as a long-press is accompanied with haptic feedback. Meanwhile, the iPhone XS will cost the same as last year's iPhone X ($999). The camera has Smart HDR, 4K video recording up to 60fps and stereo audio recording.
It has a new 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens.
These upgrades apply to the front camera too, so your selfies can look like they were taken by a professional photographer.
It wasn't mentioned in Apple's presentation but the Apple store listings confirm the free accessories bundled with the new iPhones - and there's no sign of the 3.5mm to Lightning headphone adapter.
While the glass back might be a problem from a repairing point of view, it does mean that once again both phones will offer wireless charging.
Also running on the A12 Bionic chip, iPhone XR is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, making for a pretty good, slightly more affordable option.
Tech analyst Patrick O'Rourke joined in, tweeting: 'I want to go on the record now as saying that iPhone Xs Max is a bad name for a smartphone...'
Additionally, iPhone XS and XS Max have increased water resistance, enduring up to the depth of 2 metres for up to 30 minutes. Apple's dual SIM solution, in the U.S., would enable someone to use AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile (but not Sprint) as their primary carrier while using any carrier that offers a SIM card as the secondary carrier.
