Amid mass protests against the president's visit, Donald Trump's itinerary features a relatively short stay in London, with a lavish black-tie dinner to be held for him at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on Thursday night.
Having previously said that "British people like me a lot, The police build barriers to stop be getting mobbed", it looks like the 45th president has no fears about making his presence known in the UK.
The tight security surrounding the visit will attempt to avoid exposing Trump to planned protests in central London.
We analyse his visit, trade, the special relationship and witness the pomp and ceremony.
The Donald made the comment while speaking at an emergency press conference called by North Atlantic Treaty Organisation after Trump insisted on increased defence spending. "They agree with me on immigration".
On Friday, Mrs May and Mr Trump will go to watch a joint counter-terrorism exercise by British and U.S. special forces at a military base.
It isn't a state visit, but it began with all the pageantry that President Trump has shown such an appreciation for on previous foreign trips.
She says they have "turned a blind eye" to the situation.
Hundreds of placard-waving protesters gathered outside both Winfield House and Blenhein Palace late Thursday, but extensive cordons kept them far from Trump.
She listed Mr Trump's immigration policies, bans on some people entering the U.S., his foreign policies, and lack of support for taking action on climate change as having affects across the globe.
In Scottish opinion polls, Trump has had consistently low poll numbers, placing dead last in a 2017 rating of leaders with a 20.1 out of 100.
But the red carpet treatment is likely to be overshadowed by massive protests planned by Britons opposed to Trump's presence.
Trump's trip is part of a working visit and not a state visit, an invitation to which was extended to him personally by May just days after his inauguration. "I think he is a great representative for your country".
"I think whenever his detractors go after him, it makes him double down and it actually encourages him to keep going and prove everybody wrong", she said.
Adding that it seemed as if the United Kingdom was "getting at least partially involved back with the European Union".
Then, on Friday, Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May are slated to meet at her country retreat of Chequers outside the city, before the president heads to Windsor Castle for tea with the queen. "We have come to an agreement which absolutely delivers what people voted for", she said in a statement.
After the president and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at Stansted Airport, Trump said he was "fine" about any protests during his visit.
The two leaders will hold talks the following day at Chequers, the 16th-century manor house which is the prime minister's official country residence which will focus on Russian Federation, trade, Brexit and Middle East.
They will then meet the Queen for the first time, at Windsor Castle, before heading to Scotland where the USA president will spend the weekend at his Turnberry golf course in Ayrshire.
Trump will then spend a private weekend in Scotland with his wife, where he owns two golf resorts.
