Roman Reigns spoke to Sun Sport in the United Kingdom while in London while working the WWE tour. However, in an interview with The Mirror, Reigns expressed that although Austin's opinion is certainly valid, it's by no means obligatory. It's Stone Cold Steve Austin. He knows what it's like to pull the trigger and be a workhorse. "So I think there's definitely a lot of truth in what he has to say and I value his opinion", said Reigns.
Reigns said he did not know if or when he would turn heel and he and WWE will be taking his character development one week at a time. The Big Dog said he wasn't sure.
"Is it going to happen? It's one of those situations where you kind of got to take it week by week and just understand the role", he continued. "But Stone Cold is not my boss", he later added.
As for if he would like to turn heel, Reigns isn't sure about that either. I don't know. It's a weird question cause, aren't I already a heel? If I garnered that reaction, what's the point? If I'm already being booed, why try to get booed?
"So right now I'm in a cool situation which is very different to everybody because the only person that has ever been in my shoes before is (John) Cena". But Cena is Cena, you know. But Cena's Cena. I'm nothing like him and I've never been like him.
But he does not feel it is necessary for his character to go one way or the other, but instead continue to occupy a middle ground.
"So I feel I'm in a good place to do what I want to do with this character instead of just being a heel or a babyface".
